Our 1:1 Creative Mentoring program is all about giving you dedicated, personalised time with a mentor who understands your goals, your pace, and your passions. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve already been exploring your creative side, we’ll work alongside you to develop skills, confidence, and independence — all while having fun.
These sessions are perfect for NDIS participants who want to:
Learn or improve a specific creative skill (DJing, music production, art, content creation, photography, graphic design, and more).
Build routines and self-confidence through structured activities.
Work towards personal or professional goals at a comfortable pace.
Explore new hobbies that could turn into social, educational, or work opportunities.
1:1 Creative Mentoring
How It Works
Step 1: Discovery
We start with a relaxed, no-pressure conversation to get to know you — your interests, strengths, and what inspires you creatively. We’ll talk about the types of creative work you’d like to explore and any challenges you might face so we can make sure each session feels achievable and enjoyable. This step is all about understanding you so we can set you up for success.
Step 2: Planning Your Mentoring Path
Next, we create a flexible, personalised plan that blends skill-building with your goals. This might be:
Weekly music lessons to help you record your first track.
Fortnightly art projects to develop your technique and style.
Ongoing support for a creative project like a podcast, online store, or exhibition.
We keep the plan open and adaptable so if your interests shift, we can pivot and keep the sessions fresh and motivating.
Step 3: Skills in Action
This is where the magic happens. Each session is hands-on, practical, and focused on creating something you can see, hear, or hold. We’ll guide you step-by-step while giving you space to experiment and develop your own style. Some examples include:
Recording your first full track using music production software.
Completing and framing a finished painting or tufted rug.
Designing a set of social media graphics or your own brand identity.
Filming, editing, and posting a short video or photo series.
Preparing a mini showcase of your work for friends, family, or community events.
Step 4: Reflection & Progress Tracking
At the end of each session, we take time to reflect on what you’ve achieved, what you enjoyed most, and what you’d like to try next. We celebrate wins — big or small — and make adjustments if something isn’t working. All progress notes are simple, clear, and available to you, your family, or your support coordinator so everyone can see your growth and success over time.
